Guacamole

Guacamole is a classic and versatile dip that's perfect for parties, snacks, or as a topping for various dishes. Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for homemade guacamole:

Classic Guacamole Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-2 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped (optional, for heat)
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the avocados

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a large bowl.

Step 2: Mash the avocados

  1. Using a fork or potato masher, mash the avocados to your desired consistency (smooth or chunky).

Step 3: Add the other ingredients

  1. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, diced tomatoes, and jalapeño (if using) to the mashed avocados.
  2. Stir in the lime juice and chopped cilantro.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4: Mix and adjust

  1. Mix everything together until well combined.
  2. Taste and adjust seasoning or lime juice as needed.

Step 5: Serve

  1. Serve the guacamole immediately with tortilla chips, or use it as a topping for tacos, burritos, or salads.

Tip: To prevent the guacamole from browning, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole before covering it.
